The Society of Black Lawyers (SBL) will be taking part in the London Legal Walk on 21 May 2012. This renowned event is a 10km sponsored walk around some of London’s legal landmarks. It is now the largest annual gathering of lawyers and the judiciary in the world.
Leading from the top of the English legal hierarchy will be Lord Chief Justice, The Master of the Rolls, The Presidents of The Law Society and ILEX and the Chairman of the Bar, alongside the Director of Public Prosecutions, Official Solicitor and many more. All the proceeds will to the
London Legal Support Trust which will then distribute the funds as grants to cash-strapped advice centres such as Hackney Law Centre, Asylum Aid and Brixton Advice Centre.
In 2011, 5,000 walkers raised over £495,000 to support free legal advice services across London and the South East. If you are interested in joining the SBL team, please email us at
info@blacklawyer.org. Alternatively, why not visit the SBL’s fundraising page at

The London Legal Support Trust was established in 2004 as an independent charity to raise funds for free legal advice services in London and the South East.
As part of a network of Legal Support Trusts working with the Access to Justice Foundation we support the provision of specialist legal advice through law centres, advice agencies and citizens advice bureaux by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support.
